David Gandy as Yves Saint Laurent

The last Dolce & Gabbana Eyewear campaign has a clear, unquestionable and unique inspiration: we are talking of YSL's M7 commercial photoshoot of 1971 ( ph. by Jeanloup Sieff )

It was a totally innovative campaign : Yves Saint Laurent was, first of all, completely naked, exept for his famous glasses, and secondly he was promoting his own brand, even if he was the owner, a quiet particoular thing.
Today, David Gandy has been choose once again to represent  Dolce & Gabbana.

" Un grande amore " : Mulberry's Alexa

(Mulberry's Alexa soft buffalo, colour: Oak )

This bag, available in shops since 2010 february, borns to celebrate the lovely Alexa Chung.

This bag, that i really love, is almost considered a classic.
I think it can be included in that category of bags that despite their age are still fashionable, so it's a worthy purchase!

All walks beyond the catwalk at National Portrait Gallery

Toward the end of february i went to London with my dear friend Gaia.
Unfortunately we did not have enough time to stay in town for the Fashion Week.
But, we had the lucky chanche to know All Walks Beyond The Catwalk.
All Walks Beyond The Catwalk is a project founded by Caryn Franklyn (  I-d  magazine Fashion Editor, fashion commentator, she hosted BBC Fashion Clothes Show ... ), Debra Bourne ( she is former PR Direction at Lynne Franks PR, she had worked in media and comunication for 25 years), and Erin O'Connor (  Erin O'Connor has been described by Karl Lagerfeld as "one of the best models in the world" , she founded the Model Sanctuary to provide support to the modeling work force).
All Walks Beyond The Catwalk tries to celebrate diversity within the fashion industry. This organization wants the fashion industry to comunicate positive messages to people about their bodies.
So, we went to this debate, hosted by Caryn Franklyn, where were present, beside the founders, Kiki Kendrik ( advertising consultant, she produced and created many campaignes like LOVE YOUR BODY, from Body Shop), Lynne Featherstone ( Minister for Equalities), Lorraine Candy ( chief editor in ELLE since 2004) and Dr. Linda Papadopulos ( one of the most well-recognized psycologist in UK).
The theme was " Is Fashion The Lens Through Wich We Evaluate Identity ?".
We had the possibility to hear different opinions about the influence of media on female's perception of beauty and how do they influence them and their lives.
There were projected images of campaign and magazines covers,  the discussion was incentrated on the use of photoshop in fashion images. There was an interesting image that compares before and after the retouch by the computer, it was amazing how different the model looks !
All Walks Beyond The Catwalk created his own campaign. Rankin ( the famous photographer   http://rankin.co.uk/home/ ) shooted some photos, before the Fashion Week, and they choosed different kinds of models.
I think it was a good opportunity for us, to see fashion from a different point of view.
